From the Mazeno-Highcamp it is a 3-5 hours steady ascent across gravel on a moraine to the Mazeno-Pass (5.377m) which is about 5km ahead. The picture below show details of the Highcamp, with the Mazeno Pass in the distance (taken with a 135mm telephoto-lens so the distance looks near).

The very last 45 minutes of the ascent to Mazeno-Pass the path becomes flat and you can see an impressive wall of snow and ice formed by the wind in the gap.

Mazeno-Pass itself is a small snow- and ice-wall. The views from there are limited by the rock-walls on each side.
