In April 2004  the "Guenther Mountain School Diamer" was visited by the "Director of Education Chilas", Mr. Faqirullah ADI. As it is done regulary for all government supported schools, the children were examined in their skills regarding Urdu, English and Mathematics.

At the time of the examination, 20 students were present, comming from 11 families. Despite the broad difference in age, reaching from 3.5years to 6.5years, the children passed the examination extraordinary good, a proof for the engagement and interest of both teacher and students with their families.

Below the results of the examination are shown in the very details. The names of the students are anonymized with the first 3 letters of the fathers name followed by the number of the child from this father.
For each examined subject, the maximum result could be 100 marks, leading to a total-result of 300 marks as a maximum.

As an abstract and summary, the students-results are shown below in the key-figures for the 3 subjects: Urdu, English and Mathematics:

The broadest variation and the highest marks were found in the subject "English", a subject of the highest interest, because knowledge in english opens the door to all foreigners.
Because the locals in the Nanga Parbat area use Shinea as their "lingua franca - local language", Urdu becomes like English a foreign language to the children, enabling them to communicate in the official Pakistan widely-used language-s.

A detailed review shows, that there is only a weak correlation between age and level of skills. Surprising - the only student who failed the examination is the oldest student.

A comparision of the results for each subject is shown below as a distribution-chart, expressing, how many percent of the students are above/below a certain level of marks:

So, the first annual official examination 2003-2004 of the "Guenther Mountain School Diamer" showed remarkable results of the schoolwork - which was done in a short time out of nothing.

Hopefully, this will encourage more families to send their children to the school. And it might also give a solid proof to everyone: Investing in childrens education is a very valueable deed.
